Re: Electric single cab G Wagen?

Hi Folks, I decided not to go the G route. I could not find what I wanted. Instead, I picked up a single cab land cruiser with 65,000 kms. It has a small 4 cylinder NA diesel that has great fuel economy like the 617. I am not sure if I will do the electric conversion. For now, the plan is to take ca...

Re: G Workshop recommendations for DC / MD area??

You can also try European Motors in Catonsville MD. Robert has a wealth of experience with G Wagens. He has a 300GD cabriolet and a G500 LWB himself and has worked on all 5 of my G Wagens over the years. Robert is trustworthy, fair and reasonably-priced. They are not a restoration shop, however. You...

How do you insure your G?

Hi Everyone I was wondering how you all insure your G, given that many vehicles were not sold in the USA originally and therefore may be an anomaly for insurance claims departments if a loss were to occur. Does anyone have any stories to share or strategies that they have taken to protect themselves...

Import and Logistics Provider Recommendations

I'd like to import a G from Western Europe and I am wondering if anyone has personal experience (positive or negative) and recommendations with any import and logistics providers. I am aware of Dividing Creek Imports and have a quote request out with them. Are there other companies you know of that ...

Re: 300GD "Professional"

The drawback of the factory 606a install in a G is the forward air intake which looks to be solved in this $55K version. If that engine install work is done in eastern Europe, it could be turned around at customs and sent back. My thoughts exactly. Buy what conforms with the regulations. We have pl...

Re: 300GD "Professional"

I can't see why he would not be able to put the motor in after import. I do not expect that task to be beyond his ability. I can, because from what I understand, Jean is neither a resident of the United States nor does he own a shop in the USA. I am sure he is technically capable of installing an e...

Re: 300GD "Professional"

Can someone speak to the legality of importing a vehicle into the USA via the 25-year exemption that has an unoriginal engine? Could this have a 606, 602 or otherwise if the chassis originally had a 617 or otherwise?
