Update on this. I’ve flushed the case with ATF over and over again, hooked up an elaborate series of hoses and tubes connected to my shop vac, and took a look inside with a boroscope to the point where I could now probably count all the teeth on the gears. Out of curiosity how much access could be gained by removing the cover for the speedometer cable? (Or is it on the 'wrong' side of the TC?)

Damn. This is a screaming deal and I'm only 2 hours away. Too bad it can't fit in the back of the G. I've always been amazed at what can fit in the back of a LWB G and I wonder if it could make it resting on its side? I bet it could be done if you were to remove your spare tire, run with it hanging...
