Re: Rhino Rack question ...

That looks pretty good. It's been difficult finding robust systems for the SWB... I wonder if they could do something.

Re: Template for G-Professional Snorkel

The way I read this thread, you really should have the snorkel in advance of paint. Alternately, you can cut the holes after paint and just seal the raw edges with POR-15 or something (that's what I did). I'm not aware of any publicly available printed template for the PUR snorkel. One exists for t...

Re: Template for G-Professional Snorkel

Thank you for the offer Johnny! I think by that point the truck might be painted. I'll have to go over to the shop and have a chat with the guys. Unfortunately for me, it's looking like I should have purchased this snorkel a long time ago. But money has been tight.

Re: Template for G-Professional Snorkel

I just worked from the measurements of the snorkel cover plate and went from there. First attempt was with 4 seperate sides, tacked together. That did not come out right looking. Then made it from a single piece, using a bit of plywood cut to shape and some gentle hammer action. It came out pleasin...

Re: H&R TRAK+ Wheel Spacers

Will these work on the early W460 with the narrow axles? Do yours come with studs and bolts for the wheels and/or to attach spacers to the hubs?

Re: Template for G-Professional Snorkel

It is a bit more than just cutting a hole. The snorkel is mounted in the former indented rectangular intake slot. There is some fabrication involved as the bracket and 90 degree bend need to rest on the metal lip. IMG_0508.JPG That does seem like a bit of work, but you've done a great job here! Any...

Re: Template for G-Professional Snorkel

That would be monumentally helpful... I haven't purchased the snorkel yet, but it would be ideal if I could get that hole cut before my truck goes into paint in the next week or so...

Re: 1985 SWB in LA

Hey Guys, This is my truck, I moved back to MA last year, but the winters here are so harsh that I thought I would see if any buyers were out in LA who might want to keep it in that nice dry climate. I’m shipping it back east in a few weeks if none come through, and I’m not that motivated to sell (...

Re: Hiatus OVER

I'm through posting pictures for a little while, as I want to start off with this group's impressions upon completion (whatever that means)... but progress is being made as we speak. Body will be ready for paint by the end of the week. Already have my W463 projectors retrofitted in the front fenders...
