It would look better with black painted fender flares. You could repaint the rusted rear corners at the same time.

Re: 220'F on hill climb

One of the issues with the 617 in my experience is expectation. If the engine is getting enough fuel to perform nicely, the longevity and reliability of this motor goes out the window. The million mile 617 motors were in sedans used as taxis in cities, not fully loaded Gwagens going over mountain pa...

Yes, that's the book I have as well.
It also covers L-jet which I have in my vintage VW. Not Mercedes specific, but a good read.

Thanks for all your guidance on the m110 minutia Mike.

I religiously flush my lockers every 2 years along with the brake fluid.
This is not an oil. Hydraulic fluids absorb water and will ruin the system if not properly maintained.

Re: 1983 280GE BM10 build and restoration

It wasn't that long ago that I couldn't find or even name many of these K-jet components. I have used the Bentley manual on Bosch fuel injection systems and also the MB m110 Engine manual, both of which have been very helpful, Here's the WUR installed on the left side of the engine block at the rear...

Re: 1983 280GE BM10 build and restoration

When I purchased the Aux air valve (air slide) I also ordered a brand new WUR from MB. The cost was less than all of the rebuild services that I found on-line! I installed that bit of kit and now just need to figure out how to properly reinsall the intake manifold and route all of the vacuum, fuel a...

Re: 1983 280GE BM10 build and restoration

Stymied on the radiator, I went back to the intake side. It is a many pieced puzzle of hoses and FI bits, most of which are under the intake manifold and very difficult to access once that is in place. I have preinstalled the Auxiliary air valve, strangely called an "air slide" by MB, thos...
