Re: Speedometer access? How to remove damper...

just pulled mine apart. there was lots of dry grease but the bearings look ok. im guessing these bearings dont get to spin at high speed . the rubber mating surface looks a little worn compared to other photos . do you think just regular bearing grease will be ok here? ps, they are not as brown as t...

Re: Too much turbo lag?

for now i have gone back to the original intercooler setup i had, it just runs so much better with regards to spooling , but EGT's can climb very easily. one of the very knowlegeable forum members educated me on my test intercooler being of a poor design. it is a twin pass system, meaning it is esse...

Re: Speedometer access? How to remove damper...

Unfortunately, I lost my own photos of damper rebuild process. This there is not a total disassembly: https://www.drive2.ru/l/10094704/ The larger part also comes apart into two pieces and there is a large needle bearing inside. All is made of steel except on one part where is a section of rubber. ...

Re: Speedometer access? How to remove damper...

no, its a damper , big round rubber weight, it should only be on manual gearbox model and it stops the tc from vibrating at low revs, i know because i removed it and fitted an auto model prop shaft. the original one is going back soon as i can get balanced properly

Re: Speedometer access? How to remove damper...

if you have to remove the propshaft, shouldn't it be able to compress enough to remove from the t/c side only?

Re: Air Intake (for Snorkel)

im also looking for a vertical filter. i had a quick look on Donaldsons site but couldn't find one. it would free up a lot of engine bay space if there was one you could access by pulling up, rather than the usual side pull

Re: Too much turbo lag?

Intake and exhaust volumes will need to increase as well as turbo. Looks like you lost a pusher fan as well. Since now your intercooler covers your radiator entirely your cooled intake air volume will increase giving more power but your rad efficiency will decrease because the air passing through t...

Re: Too much turbo lag?

Maybe the turbo is too Small for the new air volume to fill and push How thick is the new core? New intercooler core is 75mm thick, . I would have thought that with the kkk turbo from the 606 it would have been enough, is it a small turbo? I am also running 7.5mm deiselmeken pump. the turbo can eas...
