Re: Europa 463 dash disassembly

There's a metal trim strip behind the wood strip that may rattle if the 3 screws on the top of the center console are loose. If you pull the wood strip free on both sides of the steering wheel, you can scissor up the right side and get to the screws back there without having to take off the steerin...

Re: Europa 463 dash disassembly

When I place my finger on. That faded black surround around your locker switches the rattle stops. Pretty sure that’s it. I have to take the freaking steering wheel off to get the console trim off?? I may get more creative if that’s the case.

Re: Replacing tie rod boots

Thanks Alan. Sounds like just hand pressure. That’s all I needed to know.

Re: Europa 463 dash disassembly

I am pretty sure it’s the bezel around the locker switches. We’d to pull that burl trim off.

The lights in the climate control section don’t work at all. Others are dim. May consider upgrading, but mostly just want them all to work.

Re: Replacing tie rod boots

I didn't know about that test. I cleaned them as good as I could, they felt good and tight and smooth, and then put in that super sticky green grease. How much force?

Re: Drag Link & Tie Rod ends Replacement Procedure

Agree. I have pickle forks and never use them. The tool I showed works wonders. I had always intended to buy a Hazet one, but the free rental was good enough.

Europa 463 dash disassembly

Is there a DIY out there somewhere that shows this? I did some searching but haven't found it. I need to take mine apart to address a rattle and also replace some bulbs. I also don't know the bulb numbers, but I may be able to figure that out.

Re: Replacing tie rod boots

$7 for the boots. Rented ball joint tool and I had everything else. I certainly don't claim that's the be all end all repair for that, but I am better than I was. Seems to be holding up okay so far.

Get one of the separators like I got here. You should be able to get a free loaner from your local auto parts store if you are in the US.
