Re: Mirror Base Refinishing

If you must then mask areas around the base so as to not scratch the finish on your door. I had some overruns with the wet sandpaper and should have masked before I wet sanded. Lol Here’s the result after a few additional passes with 1500 to polish, and then the first couple coats of matte POR15. B...

Re: 2001 Mercedes Benz G Class G500L

Maybe I’m missing something, but isn’t it just like an ‘02 MBUSA G500? Assuming you let it age out until 21 yrs old, wouldn’t the purchase price + shipping + registered importer fees likely exceed cost of a clean MBUSA?

Progress after a few passes with 600 wet sandpaper followed by 1500 to polish. Matte POR15 to follow. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/yfHLnxXb9CZNKoftg1TknH39hU5GnIXbASwGRYXCW4m2lEVnVEHIJ9UvzAaPj7KyYbOaieKwBLAlirmTqsasMQ7QSHTdvgIM_xnddgDf17rOt3D8B5qu8YMJFmkf0YvaX9gebgyIVP1TgJRKldvkpc210sVqdNW59AVv...

Re: 35k-Mile 2004 G55 AMG on Bring a Trailer

A naturally aspirated M113 in the G55 is a 5.4 L (5,439 cc) version, with 342hp and 376 to 391 lb⋅ft of torque at 2,800–5,400 rpm (if Wikipedia is to be believed). And it sounds really mean, too. :D

It's the same M113 motor, just bored out and longer stroke

Re: W460 face on a w463

Hello everyone! I think one day I’d like to do a Pur or Professional look with the snorkel, roof rack, rear ladder etc. Maybe in China Blue? I like the comfort of the 463 though. This may help. https://mbworld.org/forums/g-class-w460-w461-w463/753924-g550-g350d-professional-look-pre-purchase-parts-...

Re: GVWR Mystery

As I swapped gear from my 07 500 to the 550, I quickly realized a terrible mistake; apparently the 2009-12 years have a significant drop in GVWR, by about 400lbs (?!) - 6,614 lbs to 7,055lbs I think Eric recently pointed it out in another thread: https://clubgwagen.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&...
