Re: 2009 G55 AMG photo shoot

It took me awhile to digest the GL...I have finally conceded that it is "doable", especially compared to what all else is out there from the other manufacturers. The new G grill actually does not look that bad and very fitting to the rest of the MB lineup. It is those damn headlights that ...

How's the weather and road conditions...related links

Being I am in the transportation industry, weather and road conditions are an important part of my job, especially in the winter moving trucks over Donner Pass and East to Salt Lake City. I access these sites at work and before I travel to get an idea of "how to dress". Weather forecast: h...

Re: My smaller stonger fuel can carrier

Steve ..thanks posting the link. I like the quick-n-easy rackmount solution and took note when I saw your set up. Does it scratch your paint? over time? Mike, all you need to carry is a 6f hose to transfer your fuel to your main tank! the old fashion way .... prime it w/ your mouth. I already do an...

My smaller stonger fuel can carrier

One thing I never liked about my current G situation is the rack. It is big and bulky, although lightweight, is a bit cumbersome in mounting and dismounting. I have only used it to carry something once, so its primary use is to hold my spare fuel cans. While at the Oregon G-treffen, Steve Smith was ...

Re: 230-GE Tire Question

Keep in mind we are a bit limited with the powerplants in our 460s. My 280 is at 150hp or so, while a G500 is pulling 295hp. Keeping your G's performance, as designed by the engineers, means about a 30-30.5 inch tire with the alloy wheel. I chose 31 being the rebel that I am. :o Bigger tires, howeve...

Re: 280GE and 300GD......different fuel tanks questions...

Could that "special" pickup line on the 280 be a ventilation line ? I have not had mine out. I did notice distinct part numbers for the 300 and the 280, so there is some difference. Going from gas to diesel should be a no brainer like Chris said. Going from diesel tank to gasser might have...

Re: 230-GE Tire Question

If you are happy somewhat with the performance of your 230 with 31s, there is no benefit going bigger with occasional offroad use. I run 31s on my 280 and that works for me and my offroad excursions out here. I have not ran into a situation where I wish I had bigger tires....yet. In addition, I do n...
