Yep that is it. The mouth of Cottonwood Canyon.
Odd that the EXIF pointed to a spot ~35 minutes of rutted road away. As devious as I can be, I didn't rig the EXIF data.

No, if you have location accuracy on low or medium, the phone take the last reading usually I think. If location accuracy is on high, it *should* be more accurate (at the expense of more battery usage), also since you are out in the boonies, it's not getting any info from wifi networks and likely very few cell towers, so not as accurate, a "horseshoes and handgrenades" kinda accuracy as my father used to say ;)

No dog story this time, but it was my last camp night before the G500 roof chop chop

Now wishing it was easier to get my awning mounted again...
