An old picture of me sitting in My dads 170V police car, behind is my 280GE that was then (late '80s) set up as an "overlander" with flat sleeping platform, 60L 12volt fridge, full kitchen, 4 batteries, and solar panels on the roof. I have so many fond memories of exploring the southwestern US with my dad as a child, those were the days.
The police car was was awarded the mercedes club of america's "oldest daily driven diesel" award for the companies' 100th anniversary celebration, Mom and Dad won a trip to the Stuttgart headquarters/museum, they also got to do a few laps around Laguna Seca raceway in our 300D (I was sleeping in the car seat in back). I wonder how many 3 year olds have done a hot lap around that track?
I will post pictures of Mother sitting in the pre-war silver arrow race cars once I get them from the family archives.
