Thanks Guido! I havent seen that version before. Do you know why the inner plate on the rear shock mount has that strange shape? Is it prone to hitting the bodywork otherwise? Or does it have to do with the shocks used?
Here: download/file.php?id=32685&mode=view

Hans Hehl has documented a more simple version of the rear shock mount on the frame from a Bundeswehr armed vehicle. I am planning to cut out something similar with the plasma cutter from 4mm sheet metal and replace my original mounts. Mainly because of the stupid double shell counstruction that is VERY likely to start rusting again after replacement.

Link to Hans Hehls page about replacing the shock mounts:

Does anyone know what the two holes on the sideplates are for?

Sorry if this hasn't got to do with accessories but at least it is about armored G-wagens and their specific design.

The two holes are for a sway bar - this can be added to the rear axle for better road manners - especially useful for heavy campers and such

Finally found an affordable Hella plug that is water tight for my winch like the one Bram referenced on page 10 here.

Check out PN. A3304000302 for the 1980/81 old skool version using a massive rubber sausage as run flat.
