Pic or schematic of 460 windshield washer

Anyone have a good picture of their 460 windshield washer setup or even a simple schematic? I'm starting my research to see what I have, what I'm missing and troubleshooting to get mine sorted.

Here's my washer tank and the new one I just got from the dealer. Apparently the desert heat is not so good for some kind of plastics.
I will be trouble shooting it this week and can post up a bunch of pics of what I have on my 461(460style).
Part number for the tank is A460 869 07 20 and you'll also need the pump grommet A123 997 10 81

Thanks! That would be awesome to see some pics of yours along the way to help with mine before I dive in. Too many concurrent projects and already deciding this will be my next one : )

If you post the VIN I can be sure the diagram is accurate, but here's a generic one, part 38 is optional, depending on VIN

soymateo,

Your G is about 45 Vin numbers from mine. In fact, very much the same vehicle. What color is 72XX? (I am traveling and away from my G source files.) The only other G that I have found with such a close VIN belonged/belongs to Gari Stohl, of the Stohl beer family. He wrote an account of his two stage trip to the tip of South America in The MB STAR magazine, and later wrote a book that is offered here (I think?), as I recall. His G was also very close to my VIN. Maybe you have his vehicle?

Mine has a number of changes since new, including alloy wheels, flares, cruise control, wood veneer on dash. I did not see rear window washer on your VIN card, and the two schematics seem not to address the rear window washer. The second schematic is for the early 460 with the foot pump, and only washed the windshield. On my first G, a 1980 Cabrio, I recall the electric pump only washed the headlights.

Good luck. I too am fighting a leak in my tank. Replaced the gaskets years ago, but that only partially fixed that issue. Still can only fill the tank 3/4 full.

Good luck.

Have you changed your fuel system vent lines Tom?

Have I ever? Not personally, unless you are talking about my removal of the Veggie Diesel lines, and in that instance only under the hood, the engine coolant heated fuel filter heater, and the electrically heated "pencil" fuel heater.

Most of the lines near the tank and forward to the engine bay appear newer - likely to withstand the veggie fuel, but then I have owned this G since 2007, and removed all that within the second year.

So, I am sure that I missed your question, Vadim.

Tom
