Ok, I used Super Clean on my Knuckles when I did the Front axle service worked really well, then SG other times. How about steam? I was planning to convert my old espresso machine into a mini K steamer. I used it once to remove the neck off my 56 Harmony Guitar and it worked beautifully for that. So what about steam?

Back at my "chicken ranch" in CA, I installed
a tankless water heater for home use but added
extra plumbing to my garage. I used a
pressure washer, plumbed hot water to it
It worked really well. The preset hot water
was set slight above the comfortable shower
temp without mixing cold water.

Since I did not want to kill my flowers with
degreasing agent, I used biodegradable dish
washing liquid, put the pressure washer
in suds mode and rinse it after 15 mins.
I usually wet the G before put suds on or keep
the whole G wet during hot days and continued to rinse.
It worked really well. I was amazed at the result.
Use the green spray nozzle head!

My current location, NYC, I don't have access to these
luxury tools so I am stuck w nasty chemical
degreaser.

thanks autonovice, that would do dandy on the mold and moss that grows around here on the outside of our houses! :o
Tankless water heater would be an easy sale to the wife; see honey, all the cleaning I can do.

Now I want to test more uses for my Castile Soap.

I've used meguiars super degreaser with good results, you can buy in bulk and dilute it to the desired aggression. I would not let it dry on painted or bare metal surfaces however so I usually follow up with an apc or detailing spray.

My favorite under-hood cleaner is a 50/50 mix of ATF and kerosene. Will not harm wiring looms, aluminum or painted components.

Spray mixture on, wait 5 minutes or more, brush or scrap (or tooth brush) heavily soiled areas then water hose off and follow up with a very light spray of ATF/Kero and rag wipe to finish.

Works for me; been using this method for over 60 years. And yes, to answer your question, ATF was available 60 years ago... ;)
