I Will point out that 25+ yr old vehicles are harder to come by and they are more expensive. I can buy a 96 G for less than a 90-92. Model desirability, simplicity etc may be at play as well but still it's worth pointing that out. So, 29K stateside is not crazy assuming there s actually quality behind the shiny wax.

29K is not too much as most of the ones you showed are 1993 or 1994 and not possible to import to USA as they are not 25 years old . the other one must be older , i do not know if the german army has had any 1992 sanikoffer , i would say no , they are all from 1993 or newer , a 25 years old one is a unicorn .

Ok states side - 25 years - Unicorn etc.
Let' s re-phrase the question.
Would anyone on this forum be ready to pay 29k for the advertised vehicule while being states side?
If no what would be the reason(S)?

Great examples Pierre. Thanks.

Yes, I think the question should be stateside or not stateside as it make a a huge difference.

Thank you all for the replies. I personally am not ready to pay 29k, because in 2018, there will be more single cab G's available to the American market. While prices may rise in Europe as demand increases in the USA, we can expect that they will cost less than the current offerings from G-mercedes.com. This is likely given what Guido said about these sanikoffer or ambulance models being produced from 1993 onward. In essence, such a truck will not be as rare, when, in 2018, we can import the 1993 models.

The 230GE's in California look great for the price, mechanically and osmetically. I'd prefer one with a diesel already in place.

If anyone has an ex military G with diesel for sale, please PM me. Thanks :)

It looks like it sold so it must have been worth it to someone.

Yes, and supposedly, there is another on the way in several months for 29,950.

Parts for these aren't easy once you have them in NA.
Best to buy one you know is mechanically sound and contains new parts already,
Importers seem to be swapping engines and juggling parts to make two NA desirables out of three originals.
The manuals don't even apply anymore.
Look at the NA clone market for muscle cars. A 66 mustang with a couple of cobra badges gets $35,000 more than the car was new.
There's no quality in this, only greed.
A bastardized G is a money pit.

Ha ha, his old truck?

The Swiss 230's are really nice, but for $20K +/-, you can get a decent Europa G500. Wait a few months and one will pop up. Creme de la creme, the pinnacle of G-Klasse production and design.
