280GE engine and trans complete - FREE

Hey guys,

I just pulled the engine and automatic trans out of my 280GE, we are putting in a Cummins motor. (I know it is sacrilege, but I have plenty of stock G's and this one just needs to be a fun project truck)
Anyhow, the engine is complete and fully runs in great condition, along with the automatic trans...

I am in Fort Worth, please someone come and get it, I don't want to send it to the scrap heap...
Also, I would will not try and get it ready for shipping or any of that, it is free because I am done with it, so if you want or need it, then I'll let you figure out the logistics.

shoot me a PM, first come first given...

Motor has been claimed, if that changes I'll edit.

Pic please! I just watched a show that had the 12 valve version Cummings. They put a newer turbo on it, did some other fueling upgrades, rpm spring upgrade.....dynoed at 700lbs of tq at 3500 rpm and 400hp max! I don't know what type of trans you will be using, but you will be able to tow a house.....
Please post your project, would like to follow it.

More accurately: "you will be able to break other parts".
Be careful with what you wish for.

X2 on the breaking of other parts.
Anything over 300HP is a waste in the gearing
Torque will kill it.

The Cummins R2.8 is no 12v , stock it puts out 161hp and 267ft lb of torque, it's a chinese engine rebranded (and optimized, assembled in Columbus using chinese parts, nothing out of the ordinary, many companys do that) by cummins. It can be found in the Foton Tunland chinese pickup truck (where it has a...less than stellar reputation...). I'm not discounting the little crate engine that could, it's already been swapped into many machines with much success, I'm just saying it shouldn't' be confused with the million mile 12v (which itself weights a crapton, I think the starter motor on a 12v puts out more torque than a honda civic  ) in stock or modified form. Cummins reputation in the light duty truck industry was built on the 12v, heck my neighbors Case tractor has a 12v, and that reputation carried on somewhat to the 24v, but once emissions systems were put on the 6.7 and later, the reliability suffered. Now, I've helped do 4 emissions delete's on the 6.7, and that makes the engine much more reliable, better fuel economy, and more power. Go figure.

Love my Cummins 12v! 310,000 miles on and barely broken in.

I would love the trans breather pipe if it could be made available
