Visor storage area?

I think I saw something a while back here about a storage option for up by the sun visors. Any one recall this or have any links/leads. If not I will just make one.

Thanks in advance.

I've been thinking of making my own go all the way across the roof line and moving the dome light switch assembly slightly lower - all to house some rocker switches or gauges. Something like what the 6x6 does. The prices of the above things seems excessive.

What are these being fastened to?

The manufacturer suggest to run a couple of selftapping screws in the ceiling.
I went with M6 bolts thru, backed with large washers. Even with books kept in the visor storage and endless washboard roads have not made it move.

Any clever ideas for something that doesn't require screwing into the roof?

To be honest, these might be a bit *too* sturdy. I wouldn't want to have my head cut open by that thing in an accident.

I have trouble seeing my head contacting that visor storage, assuming that I wear the seatbelt at the time of the crash.
But it is true, as they are made of 3mm aluminium, they are sturdy and would quite dangerous to smack your head into.

For the functionality in my overlanding car, they are very useful.

But here is an idea for the very talented people on ClubG.
How about a semirigid leather version of that visor storage? I'd gladly buy a set.
That would have enough flexibility in a crash situation to be less dangerous and still be practical.
