EPC shows this part as A1267680036 and looks to be available. Just replaced the metal part (A1267600102) which mates to this component and confirmed to be the same as as the rest of my handles on my '84 W460.

Yes the outers are expensive and common. The inners are expensive and very hard to find!

What is needed to make the split rear bumper work on 2002 g500? Anything besides the two part numbers above and the (4) end caps?

mounting brackets , fog light and back - up light are the same . i think your G has PDC sensors mounted , these do not have it as it is an older version .

my set is for sale , if you have interest , send me a PM .

Hi gmaschine as a mark of courtesy you could have mentioned the picture is not contractual from your side. Instead you could have given credit to me for using my picture.
I know it's a forum and pictures are exchanged this being said collegial recognition is how a forum can better interact.

Yes, thank you for coming forward and mentioning this. I always give credit when it is possible (Image was saved my phone from a long time ago). If you could post some more reference photos or your thoughts on these rare pieces, that would be much appreciated

Hi all good - no worries
I didn't take the effort to make much pictures as it was a bolt on - straight forward fitting - the material is same / similar to the one piece unit.
Drilling holes for PDC even after market ones is no rocket science - now comes the interesting part - if you use the G as a cruiser with a trailer for your boat or a camper without going extreme, you are good - if heavier off-roading is planned reckon with damages.
I was planning to fit the NL army as on my Wolf - I didn't go through the mods as the financial aspect was not legitimate in addition, I evaluated an un balance between front and rear if I had gone that path. I know just an opinion and question of taste.

Thanks for your input. In my opinion any factory W463 fiberglass rear bumper is susceptible to damage doing any kind of off-roading and the side bumper pieces are always going to be distorted or cracked.

Here’s an interesting idea for anyone who wants the look of an OEM split bumper. A friend of mine at Flatsixclassics took a OEM solid bumper and chopped it in half, closed off the openings without the use of the OEM split bumper caps and added a Oris ball hitch to finish it off. It looks clean and is a good PUR alternative.
