M119 Engine & 722.6 transmission, 50k miles!

Engine & transmission with all accessories and modules, wiring, etc. Pulled from a 1998 SL500 with barely 50k miles (verifiable) on it when it got rear ended and totaled out. Still fires right up and even drives despite one rear wheel pointing the wrong way.

This engine is the later version with no more mechanical distributors, no CIS, electronic fuel injection, fully electronic ignition, and the right oil pan for swapping into a G. Key & ignition switch assembly included.

The transmission is the 5-speed 722.6 original to this car. Well serviced and not leaking. Transmission controller included.

NICE!
Great price, too.
Wish I had time for another project!

Hello, is this still available? I'm looking to put them into a 230GE (24V). Thanks

To my knowledge, there is no 722.6 TCU that works on 24V. Unsure on the M119 ECU.
You will need to convert to 12V, which will be pretty easy with the engine and transmission already at 12V. The instrument cluster can be converted. Maybe all you need is new 12V light bulbs.

The blower will work on 12v too, just not at full speed. Relays are easy. Lights easy. Wiper motor ready but not cheap. I have a used option if you want.

Anyone ever swap one of these into a diesel 463? I can’t imagine it would be easy..

Getting the harness out fully intact and then installing into a G is going to be extraordinarily difficult; I was going to try on my build but after looking at it decide to go with a stand alone ECU and TCU which brought my wiring down to a minimum and left all my original cab and ignition wiring alone. This was more expensive, but in the long run will be serviceable and upgradable, ie: add traction control, crawl mode, etc.
This swap is totally doable but not for the faint of heart.
Has the chain stretch been verified? It’s pretty easy to check. Any varnish?
Anyone wanting to do this swap is welcome to contact me. Happy to share my trials and tribulations and contact info for the guy who built my custom harness.
This is a great deal for this combo.
