Why are you staying with 24v. Seems like a good opportunity to swap over to 12v with a 12v based motor. Makes mid-road trip parts replacement a little more simple so you can stay on the road instead of towing home every time something comes up.

You can sell all your 24v parts for good $$$

Eric. That is a reasonable question. Short answer, I have lived with 24V vehicles for 20 years and am aware of the challenges and expenses (i have been fortunate/lucky with expenses). The only real immediate issue with 24 vs 12V is the glow plug relay and I think we have a plan for that. I am able to transfer all other 24V components over to the 606a (alternator, compressor, starter/solenoid). The 24V alternator and starter can be rebuilt when needed and I suspect the compressor also. I will have to carry some key components as spares for those “mid-road trip” break downs. So, knowing the shortcomings of having a 24V vehicle, I will have only myself to blame when things go south. BTW, I still have my 24V trickle charger from my previous 24V vehicle - I can’t not use that!

Okay, if anyone should do it, it is probably you. Actually makes it more interesting to read about and watch from my perspective.
Keep at it!

Appreciate the encouragement Eric. Really enjoying the process so far (other than the depletion of funds  !)
