Made in Pittsburgh, Germany?

Just picked up a new windshield for my 460!

On one side of the glass is the usual Mercedes sticker saying "Made in Germany"
But on the other, there's a sticker from Pittsburgh Glass Works.

BTW, this is the current part number for the 460 - and was well under $300 at the local MB dealer.

it has the sun block patch behind the mirror.

the tint is minimal - it looks clear but if you hold it up against white, you can see a very subtle green tint.

the 463 windshield has the sun block patch, not the 460 windshield.
still 300$ sounds not expensive. have seen recently a used one for 500$.

I got some questions about the price-
It occurred to me the price I bought it at was likely wholesale. The dealer sometimes extends discounts to Mercedes club members. (It doesn't hurt to cultivate relationships with the parts department either)

Does this one have the thin antenna wire in the glass too?

no antenna wire on this
That version is still very pricey and has a 463 part number

yes this 460 part version does however have the tinted spots by the rear view mirror at the top in the center

and even with 460 part number it fits all Gwagens 1979-current
