G500 Axle and Pumpkin Split

Always thought that the differential housings / aka pumpkins were not removable from the axles, that they were a one piece design.

But then looking again at most made after 1982 they appear to have pins that can be machined out, allowing the entire axle to come apart.....

See photos showing sample G500 rear axle after having this done.

Note on small portion, pin is not machined all the way out, which will be required to re-use.

Note on long section, all the way drilled out and finished.
just sharing for those curious

Nice! My youngest (7mo.) has gotten in the habit of waking at 5am and staying wide awake until 9am (on time for the oldest (2yr) to wake up).
