02 G500 Power window non op

This may not be your common window regulator or sticky window guides issue. Out of the blue my passenger front window decides to not work. Both switches have to effect. With the door panel removed everything looks normal, cable for regulator isn't broken. Power is present to the door control unit. I can jump power to the window motor and it rolls up and down just fine. I also tested the window switch, and it's good.
Question is, how often do these door control units go out? I opened it up and I don't see any obvious signs of contamination or over voltage, or anything.
I wanted to make sure I didn't have a window motor issue, so I plugged another motor from a working window, still doesn't work.
I guess my next test is to try the door control unit on another door.
Anyone have experience here?

Thanks!
Eric

This is a 2001+? If so the circuit board (inside the door module) that the buttons are pressing on might be dirty. The buttons are multiplexed together and a change in resistance puts the button press outside of the expected values that the microprocessor associates with that button's function.

Hmm, what do you suggest as a cleaning method?

Disassembly, scrub the black pads on the buttons and the matching spots on the circuit board with alcohol on a q-tip.

Alright here's the follow up! after cleaning the switches window still didn't move, so I checked them with a meter and they both functioned. I knew the window motor worked because I could hot wire it in both directions. So, the only thing left was the controller box. I ordered one from the dealer, and there you go!
window works again.
I also had a random lock actuator click, that's gone now also.

Thanks Alan!

What does the controller box look like and is it located inside the door?

Thanks for the follow up.

This is a MBUSA version where the switch pack is in the door, not the center console. Completely different electronics from the earlier versions.
