I also went back and forth on the same tires. I chose the Toyo AT’s over the Yokohama AT’s because the Toyo was a good bit newer design, so I figured better compound, better tread, etc. I have two sets of the Toyo AT’s, one on my 280GE and one on my wife’s truck. They have served us well.

But then of course, Yokohama came out with the re-designed AT in the last few months....!!! Grrrr...

I do have the previous version of the Yokohama AT on my G500, and I love them after ~25,000 miles of use.

Has anyone tried the factory 205/80 r16 size on their 460? I want to keep my ‘84 cabrio as original as possible, but I can’t decide if the profile is too narrow.

The only AT I can find in that size is a Vredestein (which I’m very unfamiliar with.)

Any advice would be much appreciated.

That's an extremely small and ridiculous looking tire to put on there. Go with a 235/85 at least.
Off-road with the sound of a Mercedes diesel motor, the security of full lockers and a super-duty chassis.... that's why.
