Guys,
Does the 255/85/16 fit safely on a 16" steel wheel with a width of 6"? On tirerack is says the rim width range is 6.5-8". Can I stretch it a little bit safely? Otherwise I'll just do 235/85/16...
Thoughts?

the General's are here: http://www.generaltire.com/tires/T5/Grabber-ATsup2-sup
They are clearly a clone of the BFG AT design. I think they wear better on the tire erasing Dodge Cummins. They are as load capable as the BFG's.

but they fit and work fine, the bead is tucked in but does not look wrong.
i am on my third or fourth set , all have been run on 5.5 or 6 inch rims.
i am not the only one doing this, and none of us have experienced any problems.
cheers kerry

I've got 2 sets of widened steel rims, but now came across a set of 3 piece BBS rims which look nice, but are 5,5J on the downside...
That's why I'm now investigating my 5,5J tire possibilities.
Does anybody know on what rims width the 8.25 R16 tires should be mounted?
