You guys see any reason I can't use a NA 606 oil pan and pump on my 603? Any oil pressure issues you can think of?

The issue is not 606 or 603, the issue is deep-sump G oil pan or shallow sedan pan. The sedan pan works but is not suitable for off-road driving. When the deep sump is used, the longer oil pump must be used to match. Pressures are less of an issue unless you are building a drift racer. My long neck 606a oil pump has "35" embossed on the housing, but i have never heard of anyone having oil starvation issues with a 25 or higher pump.

I don't know if the 606NA pump bolts up and is configured the same as the 603 pump and as Vadim mentioned the neck of the Gs pump is longer to get it down into the deeper G sump.

Look through my old post as well you may find some things to help you: viewtopic.php?f=27&t=2487

Also this one regard exhaust manifolds:
viewtopic.php?f=18&t=5015&hilit=603+manifold
BTW the exhaust manifolds on some of the later 300SD cars used the euro type manifold. 94-95?

Thanks for the info. The old posts are helpful. I knew the main difference was the capacity and length of pick up. I'm just baliking at spending the extra grand on the oil pan for the g spec 603. Anyone know if my 103 oil pump/ pick up is the same as a 603? I know the pan is not the same. I already have the euro exhaust manifold. And have put the upgraded water pump on the donor engine. My G will be more of a family driver / go out to the shooting range rig. Not even close to what they are capable of.
And how did y'all plumb around the fuel pump?
And can you see any reason to keep the cruse control module. Thinking of removing it to make more room. But would have to figure out my throttle linkage then. Should be a problem. I can copy my DD 300d 124.

Why not start a new thread. Rather them being buried in the old thread. Probably get more responses.

Great idea Mark. I was thinking the same thing.

The question is moot now, no more 603 & 606 G oil pans being made.

I'm thinking about doing this swap, is you're engine still running well?
