I spoke with him a month ago, he is still driving the G a lot. Didn't mention if he had done a rebuild.

I had an exchange with Dude and his Cabrio via email a few weeks ago. That vehicle was mine for ten years. I bought it from the original owner locally who drove it a few months in Germany and shipped it home. It sat mostly in their air plane hanger and was used to tow the family's aircraft, had the original Michelin tires when I bought it. Really in poor condition. I drove it maybe 10,000 - 12,000 miles in 10 years - just had no time to drive the vehicle very much. Tried to keep it stock and added a hard top that I had shipped from the east coast, so when I sold to a fellow from CA, he drove it home with lots of spare parts and a like new soft top folded into a custom made bag I had made for it. Also, a complete front wheel bear kit that I bought 'just in case,'

The vehicle used no oil between annual oil changes when I owned it. Always Delo 20-50 the first year, though I eventually switched to Lubo Moly 20-50 and then 15-50 when 20-50 was no longer found. Roughly 1000 to 1500 miles per year, stored in modestly heated garage. Do not know what happened in the few years between my ownership and Dude. However, the vehicle is well worth a new rebuild. It even has a stock power antenna, original fire extinguisher, first aid kit, and the dash lights can be dimmed. Wow!
