W460 Hitch

Hello, I'm sure this will be a quick forum topic, but I am wondering if anyone has tried to put on a Curt receiver hitch for the G500 on their 460. Will it work? Thanks.

I haven't.

(Edit: I did a wider search of gwagenpreserve and noticed the Curt hitch listed for the 460 as well as the 463.)

Have you checked out the stock hitch?
This one is much cheaper and likely rated for higher loads

my truck had the box construction style hitch. A PO had cut the lower portion off and welded a sturdy 2" receiver. The original portion is rated to 16,000 lbs.

I would not touch a Curt hitch with a pole
subject came up before on other forums - its not a quality item

A real one is cheaper anyway, and will bolt directly to the plate.

I actually have a stock hitch that came on the truck, along with the Euro 7 pin factory wiring. But as you know it only has a 2" ball, which means I can't haul any of our larger stuff. Like the double axle 2 5/16 inch wells cargo trailer, which I would love to be able to haul stuff around in, but cannot.

I did a quick search of the forum hear and found no one that talked about putting this hitch on w460, only people that hate Curt products. Although I'm not sure why. In the past we have had Curt receiver hitches on American stuff like jeeps and suburbans and had no problems. Is there something wrong with this Curt hitch, or have people had problems with other Curt products in the past. Please give me details about your experiences. Thanks a million.

...or just have a nice bumper made up that incorporates the hitch: http://picasaweb.google.com/VTXSPRES/Pe ... directlink

Seriously, my local fab guy can reproduce this nice rear bumper for any 460. Just pm me for details.

Looks nice uninstalled. Have any pics of it on the truck yet?

Soon. And I'll have pics of the new front winch bumper too.
