Not too bad, but $30K is high for something of that project level.

Exactly, and for so long now. They made a name with Defenders back in my LR days. Always pushing the retail high-end. I think their audience is mostly made of generally uninformed rich guys who do a google search. I think they are one of the original pack of boutique dealers that helped to push the D90 prices into unreasonable levels back in the late 90's/early 2000's. (D90's are still way overpriced!)

This. When I bought my first as Stuart at Copley would call "ultra ultra ultra low mileage" D90 in 2000 I ended up going through Bear Valley Land Rovers in Atlanta. The trucks at BVLR were priced much better and they moved inventory a lot faster. Now I'll most likely never own another one. I'm still looking for my first G but I can't really find any part of the Defender that I prefer at this point other than sweet tasty nostalgia.

As many ex Rover people will say, myself included, Rovers are real junk when you remove the emotional/cool factor we are generally programmed with. I poured endless sweat and cash into my LR for 10 years and was the biggest, irrational fan ever but with some wisdom I wouldn't buy one now, even for $5k. TLC's, Nissan Patrols and G's are twice the 4x4 any Rover ever was, and in every way.
