what Gs were they that you are referring to as an example?
It is not just because they are gov't vehicles.
Many gov't vehicles can be street registered.
But not if they have been assigned a constructors VIN for offroad use only
Look it maybe possible by mistake at DMV or some loopholes, but you will never have appropriate insurance claim ability if there is an accident. You will never recover the car value if stolen. etc etc
anyways, somebody paid a lot for it, so I hope we see it combined with something else someday and back in action
heck if you own a 3000 acre ranch in the middle of nowhere, then who cares its gonna be neat
as a non runner, covered in dents, and NHTSA saying the car is illegal, not running, parts removed, smashed steering components, and a really high price.....that for me is a deal killer so I did not bid
but for someone else it might be a dream come true
I called NHTSA importation hotline today and gave them the VIN number of the ifav g270 that was for sale in the link. They said they have no record of the vehicle and don’t keep them after X amount of years. So I don’t see how they could have emailed back saying the car was imported for off road use only and not legal. Maybe some disinformation...
