A friend of mine picked up a 2006 AMG G in town at a "for sale by owner" lot for $16K. Twin turbo, 500 HP, with less than 100K miles. Sure, it used a ratchet strap to hold the hood on, no back seats and the back doors were not openable. Ok, the fender flares all had cracks and the center console was a mass of wires, but the engine, transmission and body were solid. It was a Nevada truck, and had no rust. He's a private Mercedes mechanic and thinks the fix will be $8000 in parts + his time.
So even rather horribly treated trucks can have a future!
