Interior upgrade...the rear cargo area shelf and bedding

I have seen different ideas of what people have done with the rear cargo area for organization and sleeping, and had a "ho-hum" attitude towards them as being too much trouble for my needs and never really pursued doing anything. While my G was in Southern California getting some Rockmeister rock sliders installed (courtesy Gwagenaccessories.com) Karl took it upon himself to spice up and organize my cargo area. It really turned out nice and I honestly now ask myself how did I go so long without something like this. It is really great for hiding things out of site below the shelf and folds down nicely to make a great bed for those windy occasions where "pitching a tent" ( :o )can be difficult.
Here are some photos of what I am talking about.

Mark you might like the "scissor-lock". Only problem is that you typically need a little more space for that since you're kind of perpendicular to one another. I guess if you opened one of the passenger doors and made an extension then one could technically make it happen and be somewhat comfortable. Then you'd have to fight over who sleeps out under the stars. Unless of course you've already established who's the pitcher and who's the catcher. For some reason, I picture you as the pitcher. I won't comment on Mike because I don't want him to feel like I'm attacking him (you know how sensitive he is).

BTW, Mike, nice job and hats off to you and Karl. Lookin pretty sweet.

Oh yeah, here's a little schematic I just sketched out just for a little brainstorming session.

So much for "What happens in Death Valley, stays in Death Valley".
By the way Steve, why do you have my back door open in your schematic ?

He said it.

(Nicely done Mark)

That's just how it came out. I didn't think about it, I just let it go. I closed my eyes and the illustration just formed itself. Strange how things work isn't it?

I'm not sure I have the answer Mike. I'm almost scared to try.
