dangerous range?

Dear all,
at 280 GE speedometer display panel, speed range between 50-60 km/h is colored with dashed/stripped yellow color.
What does this yellow range mean? Does it mean danger speed range or good speed range?

Thank you very much.

Regards,
eira

My guess is optimal speed to return the best fuel economy. By no means should this speed be dangerous.

yes, I agree. But, since it use same color and pattern as overrev at tachometer engine RPM indicator, this make me doubt.

Thank you.

FWIW, I had a VW a long time ago that didn't have a tach. instead, it had shift points marked on the speedometer and it looked much like that picture (but had two more).

perhaps maximum road speed for the given market (non-highway of course) into which it was originally sold?

otherwise I like Owesty's idea about the top range of Gelande mode on the tcase

Isn't 50kph the general speed inside cities of Euro cities ? I bet it is the highlighted max speed for that. Here is another speedometer showing the same as well as the shift point has marks for max recommended speed for that gear.
I think this is out of a W116 chassis.
