Just checked, I have one on my garage floor that is an inch narrower. I wonder if he has a 2-3" narrower version?

bracco wrote:Shane, do you still happen to have your AMG front brake rotors? .... Any chance you still have them and if you have a sec would be able to get a ballpark measurement? No worries if not! Will keep you posted on the WW side of things with the upgraded housing for the AMG brakes as well.

I completely forgot about this. Here you go.

13" front rotor on your '05 G55? I'd have thought they'd be larger in diameter for such a beast.
A vehicle’s worth is not what you put into it, but what it put into you.

2011. Seems like it's just large enough to not clear a 16" wheel, but should fit in a 17" fine, so if werewolf was able to make an adapter to fit the larger brakes I'd likely convert back. I do like the modulation of the smaller brakes though, but sometimes raw power is nice to have without having to do leg presses on the brake pedal. Eh...hard to say, the non-AMG brakes are pretty great too.

Ahh, 2011, but still, only a 13" rotor for a supercharged G55? Surprising MBZ didn't increase the rotor diameter a bit more for a heavier rig with such an engine. Will clear most 17" wheels (if it was a 14" rotor, would need an 18" wheel).

What an epic write Shane, we’ll done and thank you for taking the time to put that away bar disconnect info together for us.

Regarding the brake disk measurements, thank you. If you are interested in trying to get back to house front AMG brakes give Vadim a holler over at WW. He is the sales manager working in Michael’s old position. Vadim and the engineeers at WW came up with a bracket solution for my G. I’m expecting to see it in a couple months.

I'll order one of those brackets up, thanks for letting me know about Vadim taking over for Michael.

I’m an off-roader from way back. My main trail rig is my defender 90 but I’m interested in what suspension setups are being used on the gwagons.

@bracco, I messed up and measured the rear disc. Here is the front.
