Best thing about these rims is that only the cap sticks out on the tire valves stems

Yes, your correct but the protection for the valve stems is the same :)

Seems the prices on ATS wheels are going up. Are they becoming harder to find in the US or is it more for reasons of being the time period correct wheel that drives the price?

Tires in various sizes are getting harder to find for 15" rims

Yes, & no. I was buying 35" tires easily enough. 33" & 31" also. But multiples of manufacturers for each size is more limited.

I bought a set of 4 from a guy in England 16 years ago for $1000 plus shipping
These seem like a decent price for 5
