Good news

This provides the peace of mind we need to push on into more remote areas of the Laos border

That might be the fuel distributor plunger sticking at certain RPMs, especially if the truck hasn't been used for a while...some injector cleaner and clean gas could help, drive it for a few hundred miles and observe how it behaves...

Yes, good descriptive. I was thinking, and had almost wrote here, that it seemed as if something was sticking.

Several hours traversing mountainous terrain today and not a single disruption hah. Less than 150 km though.

You can pull off the intake and move the throttle plate by hand. If it's sticking you will feel some uneven movement as the plate raises and lowers. There are some Youtube tutorials about rebuilding the fuel distributor. Doesn't seem so difficult but needs to be surgically clean.

Many thanks again for the help troubleshooting.

Another day of mountain traverses and again no power loss disruptions for a second straight day. It seems as if it has worked itself out, at least for the time being.

Fresh fuel, fuel additives, prolonged use and high RPMs, etc... something has helped hah.

Plan on replacing the fuel filter if you have not already done so...

Yes, will try to get a new fuel filter when we reach the city of Chiang Mai.

The route is through Nan province near the Laos border. You can google the town name of Bo Kluea.

Third consecutive day with no issues, thankfully.

What causes the headlamp washer nozzle to constantly drip/leak?
