Why would the blinker switch break after he added a 12V circuit?

If things burn up after you add a 12V accessory circuit you must have managed to somehow get +12V to connect with 24V ground, or the other way around. A shorted circuit. I dont think that 12V+24V (36V) would kill any of these components. If thats what happened.

Could you draw a simple diagram of how you connected these circuits? To be, the best thing would be if the new accessory circuit didn't share anything at all with the existing system. No ground through the chassis etc. But separate ground wires to each component.

Or do you mean that the problem existed before?

Oh yes! I was looking for an excuse to take the dash apart. (there may be sarcasm) But still, does anyone have a wiring diagram for the 461?

You could start troubleshooting by disconnecting both the 24V batteries and 12V battery. Then do resistance measuring with a multimeter between an existing ground point and all possible parts of your 12V accessory harness. To see if there is a short circuit to ground from any of its components.

How do you intend to charge the 12V battery? Solar panels?
There shouldn't be any connection at all between the two circuits in the way you want it to work right?

This does not help your current problem, but for charging your phone you can use this without any modifications: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QM ... UTF8&psc=1

The correct answer was fuses and bulbs. Odd. Very odd.

What is the secondary bulb in the headlight housing supposed to be? Both of mine are missing. Any ideas on color or bulb size?

Nice G! Glad that the electrical problem had such a simpe solution. Secondary bulbs in the Hella H4 headlights are the parking light.

Well the dash is out, getting ready to blast and paint the floor board. In the category of “learn something new every day”. The large switch under the dash is a ground kill switch, as the frame ground does not work unless the switch is thrown. Would anyone care to confirm that?

The bolt sticker is certainly not OE.

Added an accessory fuse block for the clock and future radio then moved the 12v to 24v blower transformer added a relay.
