600 is the max right now until we get a volume of folks on here and make sure we are not going to exceed load

Chris, are you in SF? if so, i need tires, like this week, just got a flat and still running snow tires.
So, I've been hoping to get the new KM 2s, but saw that the size you got is the smallest available!!! (more perhaps coming next fall '08)

anyways, obviously I cannot wait till autumn, so I was just going to get the 285/16 Mud Terrain old style.

However if you are successful fitting these KM2s, then I am interested in seeing it!
can you come up and demo on our little offroad loop here ???

Here's a G500 at Collieautoworks right now with same size, but has a lift for sure, custom springs, removable sway bar link pins.....

Tire size calculator

I found this website which is helpful with tire & rim selection. Wonder if this is accurate.

Rear tire rubbing issues

Well, after flexing the rear axle up to the bump stops yesterday (thanks Mike!) I noticed the front of the tires foul on the body, same as on my 460 with 35s, so today I made some needed modifications to the rear wheel wells.

I removed the plastic fender liners and got busy with a big hammer.

With the ET63 offset 16s, these tires just barely tuck inside the rear fenders at full flex, no contact at the top unlike my 460 with ET10 which needed the top of the fenders cut all the way up to the rubber trim.

One other point of miner concern is what appears to be the charcoal canister just behind the passenger rear tire, so far the tire kisses it at full flex. Im hoping to wheel the Hollister hills this weekend, so I should have a better idea if this is will need "adjustment".

Next step is to cut the corners of the front fenders and flares(behind and below headlights)

Yo Chris, was great to have you visit Evi and I.
Good that we could test out the articulation on our local "trail"

Those new KM2s are really a superb riding tire.

Chris,

why not limit uptravel with an extended bump stop or inserted donut?

Thats a great suggestion Harald, If I bring the stops down 3/4-1" I will have no worries.
