Did it bolt directly to your G320 or did you have to modify?
In one of your shots of the rear of it, does not look like metal is welded to the rear plate?

I am thinking it is direct bolt on to any G class, 460, 461, 463. Rear plate sits flat, welding is on front.

I can confirm if you cut the wings off of this one it will fit a W460. It is great for carrying a bike rack however, you do have to remove the spare tyre, unless you have a fancy bike rack that restrains a bicycle by the wheels and not the centre post.

It also works as step for the children.

"tyre" and "centre" spelt alternatively to give the illusion of intelligence.

I went with the Curt option same as Atl-wagen as it was the best bang for the buck in my case. I wasn't worried about any tounge or towing capacity having a stock 617. As Atl-Wagen mentioned it's perfect for bike racks and cargo carries and actually does not hang any lower than my factory euro hitch.

You do have to whack off the sides of a brand new hitch which kind of sucks but for a little over $100 and free shipping what the hell. Installed with factory spacer flipped around to extend the hitch out further vs. lower:

I installed two plastic black bar stock caps to finish it off and to keep the crud out.

I use this hitch solely for a Stowaway2 cargo carrier which works perfect me/us. I can't run a roof rack for obvious reasons (not that I didn't investigate it) so I wanted a carrier that would still give me access to the tail gate but still have room to haul some junk around. The Stowaway2 has a capacity of 200 pounds which is great for the Yeti and some other junk.

It clears everything perfectly with a 1/4" to spare again with the factory spacer thing flipped up/out so access to the tail gate is no problem.

I did some calculamutating to be reasonably confident a mounted 33" tire on my rim will not make contact with the cargo carrier but might slightly encroach on the vertical real estate. That I could live with.

The main thing was to make sure the tire carrier cleared ok which it does.

I put a about three hundred miles on my truck this week with the cargo rack on, including some pretty tough rutted out trails and mud holes. No issues with dragging or anything. Don't think you'd want to do anything too hard core but it works great for us now that I have a bench seat installed. And a old dog.

Also, the same manufacturer makes a bike rack attachment that mounts onto the cargo carrier. I think it holds four. Should hold at least two outboard in my case. I haven't ordered it yet but I will for my 29'er. I would prefer a Thule on top but this will do great on the G.

Don't mean to hijack the thread just thought people should know what can be done with the bobo Curt hitch.

Looks nice a nice light-medium duty option.
With my LWB 460 300GD, I towed some pretty heavy loads. Not that I was winning any races though.

I noticed the two electrical connectors for the hitch wiring are open and exposed. They just screw together and will keep those wires ends from being exposed to the elements. Makes for an easy install of 460 hitch wiring if you have the factory tow hitch plug and loom. I last had a 460 plug set up a couple of years ago, gone now.

Yea... well... about that. Where do I start. I have all of the factory tow hitch plug but... Was hooking it all up before the holidays and as a result had a major electrical gremlin even though the truck side wiring harness is unmolested. Major pain.

I'll put some electrical tape on the ends or a boot or something. Don't like the idea of connecting those two plugs together after what I went through. Although I understand they're intended to be connected together when not in use. Other gurus have shared that with me also.

Once again, nice job of not posting a full picture of the truck. I guess I will keep hope alive of a high-res photo on next years Christmas card.

As for the electrical fittings, will you get more power if you connect them together? Not that I need more power, I have the 230ge power plant, but some of you oil burners might need a little more get up and go.
