Hello,

I've got a 99 Europa coming my way and the seller states the upper molding on the windshield is missing/fell off after a windshield replacement. I've purchased the parts on the diagram from Euro Truck Importers and was told the end caps need to be riveted?

Do you recommend this as a DIY or leave it up to the glass pros?'

Any generic pop-rivet gun can do the job, just don't let it bounce and hit your glass or paint

90 goes on with spring clips. 100 snaps into grooves on 90. As for the rest, I would put them on with trim adhesive or black caulk. Less opportunity for damage and you can pull it apart when needed.

Anyone know the correct windshield part # for a 2003 G500?

I'm going to have to replace mine. It has a shaded area behind the rearview mirror, and an antenna that goes up the passenger side of the windshield. I don't think it's heated...?

Also, anyone know if these early MBUSA G500's had the windshield glued in place? Or if it's just slipped into the rubber seal?

There was some discussion earlier in this or another windshield thread regarding the difference in the number of lips on the seal for the 460 and early 463, and the later 463, but from that discussion, I'm not sure about interchangeability.

As I understand it, the current seal PN for the 460 and early 463 is A4606710320 and the PN for later the later 463 is A4636710220.

Does anyone know if the A4636710220 seal can be installed on an early 463? If that seal provides a better seal, I want to go with that.

Thanks.

Later W463s required that the rubber be glued into the frame. This was to prevent the window from being blown out by the passenger airbag. I would presume that the gasket was changed to accommodate gluing.
